Ten Years of Contemporary Photography

It is quite astonishing what the curator team from FUMES AND PERFUMES has put together on the walls of the Züblin parking garage in ten years. Over the years, more than 500 pictures have been wallpapered and some have been wallpapered down again. As of today, just over 300 works can be admired on the five parking levels.

It is not only remarkable that this exhibition is taking place in such an unexpected place, but also which well-known photo artists the curatorial team has brought together. The over 50 positions shown include artists from all five continents.
FUMES AND PERFUMES has enriched and changed the cultural landscape of the city of Stuttgart. Great international photographic art was brought into the public space, the inhibitions about visiting an art exhibition were lowered and a remarkable collection was brought together that has been freely accessible for years. It would be a bitter loss, and not just for Stuttgart, if the Züblin parking garage were to be renovated or even demolished in the coming years.
